What is a stopwatch & how it works
A stopwatch measures elapsed time from the moment you start it, and laps split that time into segments without stopping the clock: each lap records both its own duration and the running total.
This stopwatch runs entirely in your browser. It measures elapsed time from timestamps rather than counting ticks, and it reads the clock at the instant you press Pause or Lap, so the recorded time matches a watch started alongside it. Your laps stay on your device.
Lap time
The time since the previous lap was recorded.
Split / total
The overall elapsed time when the lap was recorded.
Average lap
Total lap time divided by the number of laps.

The display shows hundredths of a second and elapsed time is measured against the system clock at the moment you press a button. For casual and training use it is more than precise enough; human reaction time adds more error than the timer.
Yes. Fullscreen mode shows a large, readable dial that suits workouts, classrooms and presentations, and keeps the screen awake while the stopwatch runs.
